Applications in the prescribed form are invited for the following Posts under the Coir Board.
1. Senior Scientific Officer(Mechanical Extraction) (Pay Band Rs. 15600-39100 +5400 (Grade
Pay). One Post (Reserved for OBC).
Age: Not exceeding 40 years as on 21.09.2011.
Qualifications: Essential: Educational: M.Sc. First Class in Textile Technology with two years
experience in Design.
2. Assistant Director (Training) (Pay Band Rs.9300-34800 + 4600 (Grade Pay). One Post (UR).
Age: Not exceeding 35 years as on 21.09.2011.
Qualifications: Essential: Educational: Graduate in Science with Diploma in advanced Coir
Technology and three years practical experience
3. Scientific Assistant(Engineering) (pay Band Rs.9300-34800 + 4200 (Grade Pay) One Post
(UR)
Age: Not exceeding 30 years as on 21.09.2011.
Qualifications: Essential: Educational: First or Second Class Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical
Engineering OR First or Second Class Diploma in Mechanical Engineering with 2 years
experience in running or maintenance of textile processing or machinery or equipment.
4. Investigator (Pay Band Rs.9300-34800 + 4200 (Grade Pay): One post (Reserved for SC).
Age: Not exceeding 28 years as on 21.09.2011.
Qualifications: Essential: Educational: First or Second Class Degree in
Statistics/Mathematics/Economics/Commerce/Business Management.
5. Assistant (Pay Band Rs.9300-34800 + 4200 (Grade Pay): Two posts (UR-1, OBC-1).
Age: Not exceeding 28 years as on 21.09.2011.
Qualifications: Essential: Educational: First or Second Class Graduate.
6. Junior Stenographer (Pay Band Rs.5200-20200 + 2400 (Grade Pay): Two posts (UR) One
Vacancy is Reserved for Ex-Serviceman.
Age: Not exceeding 30 years as on 21.09.2011.
Qualifications: Essential: Educational: SSLC or Equivalent with 100 words per minute in
Shorthand and 40 w.p.m. in Typewriting.
-2- 7. Upper Division Clerk (Pay Band Rs.5200-20200 + 2400 (Grade Pay): Seven posts (UR-5, OBC-1 & SC-1) Two Vacancies are Reserved for Ex-Servicemen. Age: Not exceeding 27 years as on 21.09.2011 (Relaxable for Government servants up to 40 years in the case of general candidates and 45 years in the case of Scheduled Castes and Scheduled Tribes in accordance with the instructions or orders issued by the Central Government.) Qualifications: Essential: Educational: (i) Degree in any discipline from a recognized university (ii) One year experience of Knowledge in Computer application and word processing. 8. Junior Auditor (Pay Band Rs.5200-20200 + 2400 (Grade Pay): One post (Reserved for ST) Age: Not exceeding 30 years as on 21.09.2011. Qualifications: Essential: Educational: A Degree from a recognized university with two years’ experience in the accounts branch of a public or private sector undertaking. NOTE:
 The crucial date for determining the age limit shall be closing date for receipt of application from candidates in India ie.21.09.2011. In the case of candidates from Assam, Meghalaya, Arunachal Prradesh, Mizoram, Manipur, Nagaland, Tripura, Sikkim, Jammu & Kashmir, Lahaul and Spiti district and Pangi sub-division of Chamba district of Himachal Pradesh, A&N Island and Lakshadweep, the age will be reckoned as on 28.09.2011.
 The age limits shown against the above posts are normal age limits. The age limit is relaxable for SC/ST candidates upto 5 years and 3 years for OBC candidates. Age relaxation as per rules will be allowed to PH/Ex-Servicemen.
 Application Fee: The application fee for the Post at Sl.No.1 to 5 will be Rs.100/- and Sl.No.6 to 8 will be Rs.50/-. No fee is payable by SC, ST, PH, Ex-Servicemen and Female Candidates. The fee is to be remitted in the form of Demand Draft only drawn on any Bank, payable at Ernakulam in favour of Secretary, Coir Board, Ernakulam.
 Mode of selection: The selection will be on the basis of a Written Examination and Interview. The selected candidates will be posted initially at the respective places of vacancies and they are liable to be transferred to anywhere in India where the Board's Offices exist.

 The applicants from SC/ST Category should enclose attested copy of a certificate in the prescribed form from the competent authority to the effect that he/she belongs to the SC/ST category. The applicants of OBC should enclose attested copy of a certificate in the prescribed form from the competent authority that he/she belongs to the OBC and doesn't belong to the Creamy Layer.
