• Qualification : A Doctorate or equivalent in Meteorology, Atmospheric Sciences, Oceanography, Physics, Mathematics, Applied Mathematics, Statistics, Applied Physics, Geophysics from a recognized university/ institution with good scientific standing
• Pay Scale : Rs. 37400-67000,Grade Pay Rs. 8700 plus allowances


2. Scientist D
• Number of vacancies : 06
• Age : 45 years as on 01 January 2011.
• Qualification : A Doctorate in Meteorology, Oceanography,Atmospheric Sciences, Mathematics, Applied Mathematics, Statistics, Physics, Applied Physics, Geophysics from a recognized University / Institution
• Scale of Pay : Rs. 15600-39100, Grade Pay : Rs. 7600 plus allowances


3. Scientist C
• Number of vacancies : 06
• Age : 40 years as on 01 January 2011.
• Qualification : Masters Degree preferably a Doctorate in Meteorology, Atmospheric Sciences, Oceanography, Mathematics, Applied Mathematics, Statistics, Physics, Applied Physics, Geophysics, Electronics, B.E./B.Tech./M.Tech. (Electronics/Electrical Engineering) degree from a recognized university/institution
• Scale of Pay : Rs. 15600-39100, Grade Pay : Rs.6600 plus allowances


4. Engineer (Electrical)/Scientist C

• Qualification : B.E./B.Tech (Electrical) from recognized Universities/Institutions
