Calcutta High Court was setup on 1st July 1862. It was formerly known as High Court of Judicature at Fort William. It is located at Kolkata. It is fully authorised by the Constitution of India and its decision can be appealed to Supreme Court of India. It is the oldest high court of India. At present, it has a sanction strength of 63 judges and a permanent Circuit Bench in Port Blair.
A Employment notification no. 6256 – RG has been published in which Calcutta high Court invites applications from Indian nationals for various positions in different districts and courts. The vacancies are for different categories of staffs in the subordinate courts of West Bengal to be conducted by the committees of the respective Judgeship under the provision of the committee of Registrars of High Court at Calcutta.
For Darjeeling, there is 32 vacancies are available, 101 posts are for North 24 – Paraganas, 36 are for Purulia, 52 are in Uttar Dinajpur, 232 posts are in Burdwan, 22 are in Hooghly, 66 are in Purba Medinipur, 130 are in Murshiddabad, 4 posts are in Malda, 54 vacancies are available in Presidency Small Causes Court of Calcutta, 115 are in City Session Courts of Calcutta, 45 vacancies are in Dakshin Dinajpur, 92 posts are in Jalpaiguri, 40 are in Howrah, 35 are in city Civil Court of Calcutta, 111 are in Nadia, 75 vacancies are in Bankura, 117 posts are in Birbhum, 75 are in Cooch behar, 120 are in Paschim medinipur, 320 are in South 24 – Paraganas.
Basically in all the above districts and categories , positions which are available are for English Stenographer, LDC, peon / Night Guard, Typist, Copiest, P[rocess Server, Sweeper, Bengali Stenographer, Clerk cum Typist, Bengali Translator, and many more.
For all the above posts, candidates age should be between 18 – 32 years and should have passed Madhyamik examination with certificate of computer training. This is the minimum qualification and rest details are given in main advertisement.
Selection will be based on written test / interview, depending upon the position.
