The Institute invites applications from Indian nationals for filling up of the following posts:

1. Senior Law Officer
Pay Band and Grade Pay: Pay Band ` 15600-39100/-(PB-3) plus Grade Pay ` 7600/- and other allowances as admissible under the Institute Rules.
Essential Qualification: Degree in Law from a recognized University or equivalent.
Experience Required: The Senior Law Officer shall be qualified as a Senior Legal Professional having at least 7-8 years experience in drafting of various types of Agreements and related documentations for selecting and engaging Contractors, Supply Agencies, Import agencies etc. briefing Senior Advocates in District Court / High Court and Supreme Court in all matters of litigation. He shall also have to appreciate various legal strategies and advice to the IIT Authorities on matters pertaining to complex legal issues.
Desirable: Master’s Degree in Law from a recognized University or equivalent.
Maximum age limit: 45 years.
2. Law Officer
Pay Band and Grade Pay: Pay Band ` 15600-39100/-(PB-3) plus Grade Pay ` 5400/- and other allowances as admissible under the Institute Rules.
Essential Qualification: Degree in Law from a recognized University or equivalent.
Experience Required: The Law Officer shall have adequate practical education and experience for 3-4 years especially in their required field of legal work. Law Officer responsible for IPR claim submission and monitoring and taking departmental proceedings must preferably possess a Patent Agent license.
Desirable: Master’s Degree in Law from a recognized University or equivalent.
Maximum age limit: 40 years.
3. Project Manager / Database Manager
Pay Band and Grade Pay: Pay Band ` 15600-39100/-(PB-3) plus Grade Pay ` 6600/- and other allowances as admissible under the Institute Rules.
Essential Qualification: B.E. / B.Tech / MCA or equivalent qualification from reputed Universalities / Institutes with good academic background.
Experience: Minimum of 5 years or more experience out of which at least 3 years of Software Project Management will be preferred. Strong background in Spring Framework, J2EE Technologies, especially on JSP, JDBC, XML, PostgreSQL and RDBMS. Knowledge of communication protocols: TCP/IP, HTTP. The marks / CGPA obtained at last degree should be at least 60% marks or a CGPA of 6.5 in 10 point scale and above.
Desirable: Persons working in Academic Institution of National Importance will be preferred. Exceptional candidates may be waived if there is a shortfall in the total experience required. Should have efficient communication and client handling skills.

4. ERP Developer / System Analyst
Pay Band and Grade Pay: Pay Band ` 15600-39100/-(PB-3) plus Grade Pay ` 5400/- and other
allowances as admissible under the Institute Rules.
Essential Qualification and Experience: B.E. / B.Tech / MCA / M.Sc or equivalent qualification
from reputed Universalities / Institutes with good academic background.
Experience: Minimum of 1 year or more experience will be preferred. Strong background in Spring
Framework, J2EE Technologies, especially on JSP, JDBC, XML, PostgreSQL and RDBMS. Knowledge
of communication protocols: TCP/IP, HTTP. The marks / CGPA obtained at last degree should be at
least 60% marks or a CGPA of 6.5 in 10 point scale and above.
Desirable: Candidates with development and working experience at client places and for handling
implementation especially in Academic Institutions of National Importance and / or development
and implementation of accounting module will get higher preference. Should have efficient
communication and client handling skills.
Maximum age limit: 40 years.
The posts in Sl. No. 3 and 4 are contractual and will be for a period of five years and extendable
thereafter based on performance against vacant post for the ERP at IIT Kharagpur.

General Information to the candidates
2. Age relaxation for reserved category candidates and women candidates is applicable as per
Government of India Rules. Age relaxation may be given to the candidates having more experience
/ qualifications.
3. Persons employed in Government Organizations / Semi Government Organizations / Autonomous
Bodies should submit their application through proper channel.
4. Degree as referred above should have been awarded by a recognized University / Institute.
5. Mere eligibility will not vest any right on any candidate for being called for interview. The decision of the Institute in all matters will be final. No correspondence will be entertained from the candidates in connection with the process of selection. Canvassing in any manner would entail
disqualification of the candidature.
6. The Institute reserves the right to restrict the number of candidates for interview to a reasonable
limit, on the basis of qualification and experience higher than those prescribed in this
advertisement.
7. The Institute reserves the right to relax experience in exceptional cases, or in the case of persons
already holding analogous positions in a Central Technical Institute / University / Research
Institution.
8. The Institute also reserves the right of rejecting any or all the applications without assigning any
reasons thereof.
9. Incomplete applications or applications without attested copies of certificates or applications
received after the last date are liable to be rejected.
10. Any dispute with regard to the selection / recruitment process will be subject to Courts / Tribunals
having jurisdiction over Kolkata.
