Infosys To Recruit 10,000 It Professionals In West Bengal in 2012

Infosys Technologies all set to starts its operations in West Bengal in next three to six months.
According to S. Gopalakrishnan, the Executive Co-chairman of Infosys the company has acquired land at Rajharhat near Kolkata for its first software development center in West Bengal.
The construction will start very soon and the facility will start functioning within three to six months time.
Attending a CII event in Kolkata, S. Gopalakrishnan said that the company is planning to recruit 10,000 software professional in West Bengal.
He further said, in the first phase 5000 jobs will be created with an approximate investment of Rs. 100 crores.
Infosys has already hired around 35,000 professionals for this fiscal year and is planning to add another 10,000 by the end of March 2012. The total head count in Infosys stands to 1.40 lakh at present.
The company is looking at China, South East Asia, South African markets to offset the turmoil in American and European markets.
Gopalakrishnan said that despite the slowdown in global economy, the IT sector has sustained the pressure and hence there would not be any lay-offs.
However, he said that there would be consolidation in the sector and the best talent would survive.
