 Applications are invited for Air Force Common Admission Test (AFCAT) 01/2012 for the Courses commencing January 2013 and July 2013 Invites applications from bright young engineers to join in the Air Force for grant of Short Service Commission in Flying Branch and Permanent/ Short Service Commission (PSC/ SSC) in Technical and Ground Duty Branches for the following courses  for Men and Women:

General Instructions:
 1 Please read the following instructions carefully before filling up of application form for Air Force Common Admission Test (AFCAT): February 2012.
 2 Separate application forms are provided for men and women. Candidates are advised to fill up the form in the format applicable to them.
 3 Please note that all the columns of the application have to be compulsorily filled up. In case of nil information for a particular column, ‘N/A’ is to be written. The form is to be filled up by the candidate himself / herself in Block Capitals with blue colour ball point pen. The form is to be filled up neatly without any overwriting. Use of corrective fluid (whitener) is not permitted. Column wise instructions are as under:-
 4 Column 1 – NAME: Full name as written in Matriculation Certificate is to be written.
 5 Column 2 – FATHER’S NAME: Father’s name as written in Matriculation Certificate is to be written.
 6 Column 3 – PRESENT ADDRESS WITH PIN CODE: Complete present address of the candidate with PIN code is to be written.
 7 Column 4 – PLACE OF PERMANENT RESIDENCE : City of the Permanent Residence and State.
 8 Column 5 – CHOICE OF AFCAT CENTRE: Two choices of AFCAT centres, as given in the advertisement should be written in order of preference. Both the choices of AFCAT centres should preferably be under the same Command Headquarters. If not, the application is to be forwarded to the Command Headquarters under which First Choice of AFCAT centre falls. For example if the two choices are (i) Ambala & (ii) Agra, the application is to be forwarded as per Ambala centre i.e. to HQ Western Air Command.
 9 Column 6 – GENDER: Male / Female
 10 Column 7 – DATE OF BIRTH: Date of Birth as per Matriculation Certificate is to be written in DD/MM/YYYY format.
 11 Column 8 – VISIBLE IDENTIFICATION MARK: Any visible identification mark (e.g. a black mole on left side of face / a cut mark above right eye) of the candidate is to be written.
 12 Column 9 – E-MAIL: E-mail ID of the candidate should be written in block capital letters for e-mail correspondence with the candidate.
 13 Column 10 – TELEPHONE / MOBILE NO: Landline and / or Mobile Number(s) to be written.
 14 Column 11 – EDUCATIONAL QUALIFICATION: The candidate should write the name of educational qualification on the basis of which he / she is applying (e.g. BA / BSc / BCom / BE / BTech / MA / MSc / MCom / MCA etc.).
 15 Column 12 – COURSES APPLIED FOR IN ORDER OF PREFERENCE: The applications are invited for different courses commencing in January 2013 & July 2013. Branch wise course numbers are allotted based on type of commission i.e. PC / SSC. The details of course numbers applicable to men and women are as under:-

 (i) Flying Branch (aa) No. 40 Short Service Commission Course (Women) {40 SSC (W)} (ii) Technical Branch (aa) No. 54 Short Service Commission Course (Women) {54 SSC (W)} (iii) Ground Duty Branches (aa) No. 42 Short Service Commission Course (Women) {42 SSC (W)} Candidates are to write the course numbers as per eligibility for different branches and as per the choice of type of Commission. Candidates may give multiple choices in order of preference for branch / type of commission.
 16. Column 13 – NEAREST RAILWAY STATION: Name of nearest railway station as per candidate’s present address is to be written in this column.
 17. Column 14 – APPEARED IN SSB EARLIER FOR ARMY / NAVY / AIR FORCE / COAST GUARD: If a candidate has earlier appeared for SSB interview for Army / Navy / Air Force / Coast Guard at any of the selection boards, write YES, otherwise NO. No other details are to be given.
 18. DECLARATION: The candidate should carefully read and understand the declaration before signing.
 19. THUMB IMPRESSION – Left thumb impression for men and right thumb impression for women candidates is to be given in the space provided.
 20. SIGNATURE OF APPLICANT – The candidate should sign in the space provided.
 21. PLACE & DATE – Place and date to be filled up at the time of filling up of application form.
 22. Application must be accompanied with the following enclosures only. No other documents are required to be enclosed:- (a) One self addressed envelope (address written in block capitals) (size – 23×10 cm) with Rs. 27/- postage stamp. (b) One self addressed envelope (address written in block capitals) (size – 23×10 cm) with Rs. 5/- postage stamp. (c) Two unattested recent colour photographs similar to the one pasted on the application form with name of the applicant on the reverse.
